Background
Coming from a bicultural background, Peggy has navigated tensions and questions around identity and has come to resonate with JS Park's words, "I am split between worlds and cultures, languages and lives. But I am not split in half. I am made more. So many worlds inside this skin, I find I have much more to give."
Her personal journey led to a Bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of British Columbia which set the stage for subsequent experiences in the world of neurodivergence as a Behaviour Interventionist, Child and Youth worker, and Education Assistant. Peggy has also supported vulnerable and marginalized populations through volunteering for the crisis line and various humanitarian, community development, and mentoring capacities around the world, including India, Nepal, Indonesia, the Philippines, Australia, and the Middle East. These experiences grew her passion to accompany others from diverse walks of life through their journeys of healing, growth, and self-discovery, leading her to pursue a master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at Trinity Western University.
Therapeutic Approach
Peggy values creating space and building trust that centers around the values of "safety, predictability, and choice," ensuring person-centered and trauma-informed care. She offers a family systems lens that also draws from Emotion-Focused Therapy, Bowen theory, Play Therapy, Somatic work, Parts work, and Narrative Therapy. Peggy brings a warm and empathetic presence, believing that safe space and safe presence are key to exploration, healing, and meaningful change. She believes each person holds multiple narratives that have led them to where they are and who they are in the present moment, deserving to be heard, witnessed, and understood. Through a collaborative and strengths-based approach, Peggy hopes to journey with people of all backgrounds through self-exploration and discovery towards expansion and an increasing sense of wholeness. She feels honored to come alongside and co-witness a part of your journey together.
