Background
Nora has a dedicated background in social work, clinical counselling, and family support services. She holds a Master of Social Work degree from the University of British Columbia and a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Social Work from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Nora possesses extensive clinical experience within both school settings and the healthcare field. She has over seven years of experience providing counselling to children, teenagers, and adults, specifically focusing on navigating children with special education needs and family dynamics. Her background also includes working with diverse populations to address mental health challenges in a supportive and empathetic environment.
Therapeutic Approach
Nora employs a strength-based perspective in her clinical practice, held by the firm belief that there is always a solution and a path to positive change. She provides comprehensive counselling to individuals and families, utilizing evidence-based modalities including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Structural Family Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT). She is skillful in helping clients identify their internal resources to overcome life's challenges. Nora can discern the needs of her clients and support them holistically, conducting sessions in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin to serve the diverse community.
